Mission
Welcome to the Alaska Floorball Monkeys! We're a diverse co-ed group of students, faculty, staff, and community members who like to have fun and stay fit by playing floorball. Floorball is a type of no contact floor hockey.

We play almost every Wednesday and Friday from 5-7pm in the SRC. We have sticks and all goalie gear you can use. Come join us in this new fast paced sport!

Mission:
The Alaska Floorball Monkeys shall promote and offer consistent and recurring times for the playing of floorball, also referred to as innebandy, and to introduce the sport to new members. This will be completed by maintaining a consistent pool of interested members to field at least 2 full teams (8 people) 2 days per week for 2 hours each day, during the regular school semesters. Ideally, we’d prefer to field 3 teams (12 people) and 2 goalies to allow rapid round robin games.

The Alaska Floorball Monkeys will continue to offer the sport of floorball each and every year as has been done for over a decade, and will maintain the tradition of inclusion to connect the UAF campus to the surrounding communities by offering membership and participation to University of Alaska students, faculty, staff, as well as community members. Membership in the Alaska Floorball Monkeys shall be open to all who are interested in learning and abiding by the rules of the game, and are able to safely participate in the playing of the sport of floorball. Membership selection is open to everyone without regard to race, creed, color, religion, national origin, sex, sexual orientation, gender, age, disability, status as a Vietnam era or disabled veteran, marital status, changes in marital status, pregnancy or parenthood pursuant to applicable state and federal laws. Anyone can join as long as they are able to learn the rules of the game, safely play, and are legally allowed on campus and into the student recreation center and can abide by all University rules and regulations.

The mission of the University of Alaska Fairbanks athletics program is to provide the student-athlete with an opportunity to compete at the Division I and II levels of competition while receiving a quality education consistent with the mission of the University. Students who sit in the student sections at Hockey (section #'s 119, 120, and 121) and Basketball and Volleyball (section #104) will get free Pizza Hut Delivery of the game as well as exclusive Nanook swag. UAF Student clubs can contact Athletics to get an official club PA announcement at all sports and can have their club merch shared with the audience.

We are the ASCE/AGC Fairbanks student chapter. We participate in the UAF Ice Arch competition, ASCE Concrete Canoe, AISC Steel Bridge, and the UAF Starvation Gulch. We help connect students to hands-on engineering and internship opportunities. We like to have fun while getting real-world experience. This group is not specifically just for civil engineering students. In the past, some of our most active competition members have been mechanical and petroleum engineers.
