Our mission is to provide our members with hands-on experience designing and building a different remote-controlled airplane each year to compete in the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA) international Design Build Fly competition.

We are the ASCE/AGC Fairbanks student chapter. We participate in the UAF Ice Arch competition, ASCE Concrete Canoe, AISC Steel Bridge, and the UAF Starvation Gulch. We help connect students to hands-on engineering and internship opportunities. We like to have fun while getting real-world experience. This group is not specifically just for civil engineering students. In the past, some of our most active competition members have been mechanical and petroleum engineers.

The UAF CWC is an undergraduate student organization focused on the development of the craft of creative writing. We touch on fiction, nonfiction, creative nonfiction, flash, experimental; whatever the UAF student community is writing, we want to be a place where people can come, share their work, and receive positive feedback. Additionally, we want to be a haven for writers in our UAF student community to hang out, brainstorm and share ideas with one another, produce work based on writing prompts, mutually work independently on our projects via writing sprints, and workshop each others work. The goal of the club is to forge a strong writing community so we can all help one another produce the best work possible.

We believe all people have the right to live free of violence, discrimination, and the fear of violence. We recognize that intimate partner violence, harassment, discrimination, and hate crimes are not isolated incidents, but rather individual expressions of a cultural attitude that tolerates violence and hate. We understand that these behaviors demonstrate issues of power, control, and inequality; and we believe that the folks targeted by these behaviors are not to be blamed for the violence and discrimination perpetrated against them.

NDAC’s philosophy to address these pervasive social problems is informed by multidisciplinary research and data. We seek to increase awareness of these issues and establish positive community norms. We accomplish our goals through student-led efforts such as educational programming and staff-led training. In these efforts we address that barriers exist for all people. We challenge our community members to consider how they might overcome or work around these barriers to support a community free of discrimination, harassment, and violence.

We are a group who want to create a space for people to take some time and enjoy some tabletop role playing games! The most popular system of such games is of course Dungeons and dragons, but we encourage members to branch out and look for other systems to explore and bring to light within the club through our system 101 events and live shows that show off the game to a more casual audience.

We have spaces we can reserve for you and your group if you would like a quieter place to play, such as in one of the many empty rooms of the Gruening building. We also have space at each of our weekly meetings for members to talk about other systems that they would be interested in playing or running, and if there is enough interest in the system, the club will buy the source books of that system for club members to use for their games.
