Welcome to the Alaska Floorball Monkeys! We're a diverse co-ed group of students, faculty, staff, and community members who like to have fun and stay fit by playing floorball. Floorball is a type of no contact floor hockey.

We play almost every Wednesday and Friday from 5-7pm in the SRC. We have sticks and all goalie gear you can use. Come join us in this new fast paced sport!

Mission:
The Alaska Floorball Monkeys shall promote and offer consistent and recurring times for the playing of floorball, also referred to as innebandy, and to introduce the sport to new members. This will be completed by maintaining a consistent pool of interested members to field at least 2 full teams (8 people) 2 days per week for 2 hours each day, during the regular school semesters. Ideally, we’d prefer to field 3 teams (12 people) and 2 goalies to allow rapid round robin games.

The Alaska Floorball Monkeys will continue to offer the sport of floorball each and every year as has been done for over a decade, and will maintain the tradition of inclusion to connect the UAF campus to the surrounding communities by offering membership and participation to University of Alaska students, faculty, staff, as well as community members. Membership in the Alaska Floorball Monkeys shall be open to all who are interested in learning and abiding by the rules of the game, and are able to safely participate in the playing of the sport of floorball. Membership selection is open to everyone without regard to race, creed, color, religion, national origin, sex, sexual orientation, gender, age, disability, status as a Vietnam era or disabled veteran, marital status, changes in marital status, pregnancy or parenthood pursuant to applicable state and federal laws. Anyone can join as long as they are able to learn the rules of the game, safely play, and are legally allowed on campus and into the student recreation center and can abide by all University rules and regulations.

The UAF Center for One Health Research (COHR) seeks to engage participants from UAF, Alaska and the circumpolar North to collaborate on building research programs to address the large, multifocal issues facing these regions.

UAF has had One Health initiatives and we are now seeking to significantly expand these efforts by building interdisciplinary research from a One Health perspective using constructionist, integrative approaches to help manage problems at their source rather than their outcome.

We’re pursuing large programmatic funding to support diverse, inclusive teams of researchers and their graduate and undergraduate students providing research mentorship at all levels.

These programs will focus on community involvement from their inception and work in a culturally sensitive, respectful way to include traditional knowledge and promote individual and community health and well-being for people, animals and the environment.

The One Health Master’s Degree (OHM) educates students to use a constructionist approach to address issues in the Circumpolar North that are at the intersection of human, animal, and environmental health. Graduates of the program will be able to engage key stakeholders to develop and implement realistic management plans that can be implemented in communities across the Circumpolar North.

We are a group who want to create a space for people to take some time and enjoy some tabletop role playing games! The most popular system of such games is of course Dungeons and dragons, but we encourage members to branch out and look for other systems to explore and bring to light within the club through our system 101 events and live shows that show off the game to a more casual audience.

We have spaces we can reserve for you and your group if you would like a quieter place to play, such as in one of the many empty rooms of the Gruening building. We also have space at each of our weekly meetings for members to talk about other systems that they would be interested in playing or running, and if there is enough interest in the system, the club will buy the source books of that system for club members to use for their games.

When signing up for the club you need to simply sign up from the engage page, then you may freely use the discord link in the contact page to gain access to the clubs discord server where we post updates about club events as well as the topics of the weeks meeting and a reminder for our weekly meeting time.
