Midnight Sun Visiting Writers Series: Mieke Eerkens

Mieke Eerkens, a Dutch-American writer from Los Angeles, holds degrees in Creative Writing, English Literature, and Nonfiction Writing from prestigious institutions. Her work, featured in publications like The Atlantic and Los Angeles Review of Books, includes the acclaimed book All Ships Follow Me, which explores her parents’ WWII experiences and inherited trauma. Eerkens, who has taught Creative Writing at various universities, is currently working on a memoir about her travels with the circus.
